Haha - indeed, valid points. My last was actually a TD5 Defender and tbh it wasn't too bad. The Disco 2 and Disco 3 were the most problematic but of course much nicer to drive and extremely economical (as most miles were done on an RAC truck). Ease of repair and parts prices are important to me...

Hi - Yes I did by changing the injectors in the end (sorry, I thought I'd posted this resolution but didn't :mad:). However, I did manage to reduce it by probably 50% by using a diesel system cleaner called "Diesel Clean Up" by Wynns. You add it to the fuel filter and it runs up straight away...

When you say clash I'm thinking grinding or with a chonk or are you saying difficult to engage? What is it like neutral to reverse cold/warm.

If OP was talking garage then I think they'd struggle to find one that wouldn't insist on doing dual mass flywheel as well if they had to warranty the job - and DMF's being what they are (cr*p) I think it would be foolish to not put one in especially as OP doesn't know the truck. He/She may also...
