Range Rover Diesels - Which is the most reliable?

Haha - indeed, valid points. My last was actually a TD5 Defender and tbh it wasn't too bad. The Disco 2 and Disco 3 were the most problematic but of course much nicer to drive and extremely economical (as most miles were done on an RAC truck). Ease of repair and parts prices are important to me...

Range Rover Diesels - Which is the most reliable?

Hi - I'm thinking about getting a Range Rover and wondered if there was a reasonable consensus on which engine/gearbox is considered the most reliable. Or for that matter, which Range Rover is the most reliable. I've had all the Defenders (only up to TD5) and Discoveries (only up to 3.0v6) and...

2.5TD 19j - Smokes on start up - fine after...

Hi - Yes I did by changing the injectors in the end (sorry, I thought I'd posted this resolution but didn't ). However, I did manage to reduce it by probably 50% by using a diesel system cleaner called "Diesel Clean Up" by Wynns. You add it to the fuel filter and it runs up straight away...

    Clutch in Defender 90

If OP was talking garage then I think they'd struggle to find one that wouldn't insist on doing dual mass flywheel as well if they had to warranty the job - and DMF's being what they are (cr*p) I think it would be foolish to not put one in especially as OP doesn't know the truck. He/She may also...

    10.3 TachometerDrive 10.4 Gearbox/ABS Drive??

I see - Its odd though that this fault wasn't coming up at all, until I replaced the MAF. I wonder why it wasn't reporting it before. Mind you, I have assumed that the fault codes are listed on one page and as there appeared to be one I didnt scroll anywhere - with Nanocom do you have to scroll...

    10.3 TachometerDrive 10.4 Gearbox/ABS Drive??

Hi - Just changed my MAF sensor as it was reporting Low Air code on Nanocom - All MAF related stuff now reporting and low air code gone. However, I now have a new fault showing up that wasn't there before: "10.3 Tachometer Drive Open Load/10.4 Gearbox/ABS Drive Open Load" I dont have a tacho...
