    Stuck knob

    Have you got a workshop manual or a Haines book? Just near the bottom of the Hi-Lo box gear stick is a small cover over the shafts to the transfer box - take that cover off and I'll bet that one or both those shafts are gummed up with old grease and cak, get a bit of oil in there and force them...
