Do a search about it here and you will find @Nodge68 has mentioned before that Ravenol ss meets specs and is not green 🤔.
But if its suspect. flush with what is good, and you then know.

Morning All. :D
A bit of crash-bang-wallop from the skies at midnight, cool & damp now. :)
No plans ATM for today. I really did get burnt on the cycle ride yesterday. :(
Down a bit more on the diet, so I shall keep going. :)
Have a good day! :D
Morning all, tis the misses birthday today so an afternoon meal will be on the cards. We are going to a friends house tonight
for drinks. Im off out to fit my propshafts whilst ive got an hour to myself. Then I suppose I should go n buy a noo...
The fluid is clean and definitely red
It was like that when I bought it and I presume for thousands of mile before that.
What damage is being done and what fluid should I be using please
I’d be flushing it PDQ, several times, with the correct PS fluid, and keeping my fingers crossed.
Also change the reservoir bottle when you do it - it has a small filter inside.
… I s’pose it ‘could’ be just very old green fluid that has turned...
Off to Lavaur tomoz for the show "Rock and Cars" which is always fun.
Bizarrely the frogs can't get enough of yank wheels. Good music from the 50s and 60s, booze, food... should be good.
Then Sunday the Round Table are doing a thing up at the...
Up at 6 a.m. this morn to take W to A&E.
She tripped and fell while we bimbled around Castres last week before lunch.
Of course she fell cos of her dodgy foot, the paralysed one and twisted it or summat.
We carried on and once home after the...
...that a very enjoyable trike ride was had. Only 10 miles but the sun was blistering hot and the breeze was warm.
Avg. Speed a mere 12.8MPH with a bit of assist. Smashing!
TBH I have never had much luck with drivin onto them, so I tend to jack the vehicle up and put the ramps under them, or use axle stands.
I'd have the same problem with W's Pluriel.
You're right
Managed to get a 27mm socket on it and free it off a bit but then realised that as I unscrewed the filter top it would wind out and jam on the radiator housing so it has to be a spanner
I don't have a flexi head 27mm...
For conformation if a DPF is fitted or not. Look at the 8th character on the VIN. If it's a B then no DPF is fitted, if it's a C, then a DPF is fitted. This is correct up to 2011MY.
No. There's no DPF fitted, which is why I chose that model year. ;)
LR specify an oil which meets Ford specification WSS–M2C934–B for DPF equipped vehicles, and WSS–M2C913–B or C without a DPF. The 5.9L capacity is the same for both grades.
I've no idea if the VW specification would be OK, but normally a DPF...
Being a 2009, I don't think it'll have DPF (my MY2009 hasn't).
I went with Castrol Magnatec on my last change - I'd rather spend a few quid more on a decent brand.
It needs to meet a Ford standard. I'll try and dig it out...
My 50 year old ramps are too steep for modern cars. Cars had more clearance at the front end back then, unlike moderns which have noses that almost touch the ground. Not found anything with a search, that will suit my needs. Like you I think a...
I use lengths of timber to extend the ramp for smaller vehicles
Saw ramps on line but their depot isn't far from me so went there and got some discount.
I like your ramps. Where did you get them? I need something like those but with a shallower ramp to get under the front of modern cars (like 'er indoors corsa and dottirs focus).
