slight delay with progress this week due to a stinking cold … but Im back on track . Chassis is now finished and parked up outside out of the way. Hub assemblies all cleaned up rust converted and trailing arms etc free of very stubborn bushes...
As an occasional drive, I really wouldn’t worry about fuel costs. You’ll still get low to mid 20’s MPG. Use premium petrol too, not the cheap variety. It’s a very nice engine.
I've read they're nice runners and a bit more refined than say a 12J diesel, but I fear for my wallet in fuel costs! Although it's not going to be a daily so hopefully its not too painful
😂 😂 Yeah standard shafts, that one only went in in December!
Tbf I like the look of the HD flanges! They worked well on my old 110. Often talked about is having cheap flanges or even cutting a few splines off them to make them specifically...
That’s some torque… think as all your stuff is HD when it goes,it goes well…
Form them pics I would say the shaft splines would not give way and expanded while been twisted. Once it was wedged in the stub that’s when it snapped the shaft.

Under bonnet brackets now ready for paint:
And the good news continues with the inner wings found to be galvanised. A couple of rust patches but otherwise very servicable and cleaned ready to paint:

Chassis now complete after 3 coats of paint ! I will guarantee it for another 40 yrs.
Front axle new diff pan welded on, rust converted and painted. Its a shame that the paint dulls off when dry as I do like the gloss finish but then again it...
Where better to be on a wet and very windy day …. No dont be stupid not in the house watching the telly or baking a cake, in the man cave disassembling and degreasing the front swivels and hubs of course.
With afternoon “panad” over (thats Welsh...
Went to Piccadilly Wood yesterday, was a great day with the Empire lot except may have sent it a little too hard and broken what is likely a CV/shaft on the drivers side.
If not its the front diff but I would be suprised if it was given its an...
A visit to the Irn-Bru production facility this morning showed the process had worked:

And the rusty bits now have a black finish:
It does not eliminate any mechanical clean, but sorts the...
A few more hours devoted to the Landy. Some of the under bonnet bracketry as a "patina" of rust. Never tried it before so thoought I would try the electroysis method of getting rid of the metal moth. Well, no so much get rid of it but convert it...
Another weekend of landrover use.
I have found out my knee starts to ache with lots of use of the clutch on slow control.
Spotted I need a new wiper blade. Replace next week

There are two fords on the fosseway. The one at brokenborough is quite deep most of the year but in winter or after heavy rain, it is very deep. The second Ford towards Easton Grey has a TRO if I remember correctly. It was used for off-piste...
There is the Foose Way running South from the airport. Apart from the ford halfway along the byway it's hardly worth the visit, apart from short cut maybe
You have a Ford near bourbon and a length of right of way. Heading towards Cirencester & Cotswold airport.
A lot of construction on the new A417 may have closed a lane.
some of the lanes on the Motocyle sites are the restricted ones. Plenty of...
