Whats the best way to get at the fuel pump access cover, is from the split in the carpet under the rear seats or do I have to take the entire carpet out which means taking the side bins etc out as well?

Battery fully charged and the starter motors ok. Still won't start and theres no noise from the fuel pump so I'm going to order a new one.

My TD5 started misfiring and died yesterday, had it towed to the local independent, anyway they said it was the Injector harness and wanted to charge me 1300 NZdollars just for a new harness. They cleaned up the original and said it would be good to get me home until I ordered one from Blighty...

I'm after some advice, I had a transmission hose blow on my TD5 last week, anyway got it fixed and I was talking to the mechanic and he reckons I should have a 'second' transmision cooler fitted because I tow a 2 tonne boat, any thoughts whether or not its worth doing or is he looking for work?

Hope someone can shed some light on the latest issue with my TD5. I've just fixed the exhaust manifold issue, during which I had to remove the aircon pump to get access to the broken front bottom stud and I also lost some coolant. I topped up and bled the coolant, I haven't had the aircon...

Cheers, it was warped and is away getting skimmed now. Questions are:- 1. Has anyone used a sealing compound when re-assembling? 2. There are 7 studs left stuck in the block should I try and replace them at the risk of breaking them or leave them in?

I removed the aircon pump completely, think I might have made a bigger hole in the ozone! (it needed regassing anyway). The front and rear studs had sheared on mine so next weekends job is drilling them out. Anyone got any thoughts on using high temp RTV when fitting the new gasket?
