I moved the alternator to allow the fiting of all the pipes for a full width intercooler at the front of a series 3 rad with the air fillter high up to the left. It all works very well but under the bonnet is now a bit full what with servo,power steering tank. oil cooler etc.

Has anyone fitted an electric coolant pump to a 200tdi in a series 3. My alternator sits above the engine to the left on a custom bracket as it wont fit in its original position because of all the pipework. The fan belt drives the coolant pump but only just touches the pulley for about 15...

Caster correction plates ?Some off these have 12 mm holes and some have 16 mm holes .which ones for 1973 series 3 thanks . Simple question but hard to find answer.

I fitted some disk brakes to the front of my series 3 and they work very well but the pedal travels a lot to brake hard. I think its the increased volume of fluid the callipers need . Can i fit a bigger bore master cylinder . Thoughts please single line brakes

Well this got a bit off topic ? Happy with wot i have its quick enough in standard state of tune. dont drink juice, no smoke at all at any revs. also the gearbox may last a while. I only meant to reassure people that DVLA will be nice if you try to be honest with what you say you have done.

Insurance company says it makes no difference to risk. Didn't even ask for more money. Its not that noisy as the pump is tuned to standard spec ,its still got a series box so i don't want lots of torque very pleased with how it goes starts on the button with no heat even when very cold. Drive it...

Dvla did the engine change from 2.25 to 200dti today no problems at all . I simply wrote them a letter and sent log book with changes required . Took 5 weeks though.

My battery is bellow seat as well in a stainless box welded in .the seats are now in and fit well. The seats have a piece off 50 X 50 box section to support the rear mounting as i have used the Mazda runners . The box section makes the seat sit at a sensible position on landy seat box which...

Ok thanks everyone got some mx5 seats. Will they go in the space or do I move the bulkhead behind the seats further back. Don't want to but will if I must. Which runners do I use. Never done this before so any info will be appreciated thanks. 1973 series 3

Thanks for the advice. I got a correct dipstick today. The engine is rebored reground etc and think got the dipsticks mixed up in the yard engine came from.The one I now have measures exactly as stated in another post. 7 ltrs is now just a bit overfull, not a worry. Thanks

I changed the oil today and had to put 7 litres in to get it to touch the dipstick .It says in the book 6 litres to fill . Do I have wrong dipstick. Does any one know measurements for top of dipstick to low or top marks .thanks .200tdi
