This weekend has been mostly about fitting a replacement driver's door lock barrel along with a new set of brake pads. Had a "someones been here" before moment while removing the driver's door handle... deep joy!

Very many thanks! I've had the same problem on our X plate TD4. Slim rounded knife blade to jiggle lock fully on, then off, and door operation restored. Kindest JSett

Today was fitting a new window regulator in n/s/f door along with a new (s/h) door lock. Central locking now works on four out of five doors. Just the n/s/r door lock unit to go!

Today I has mostly fitted a new rear door (tailgate) handle. Not only does the rear door open, but bonus: it also closes when required! Next comes the gas soldering iron to replace the corroded heated rear window connectors. Never a dull weekend with a Hippo.

Fitted the winscreen scuttle cover from later FL1. Goodbye rotten algae filled foam...

Having had a new clutch (and associated bits) fitted this week, today I am mostly investigating why the drivers door window stops one third of the way down its travel. Deep joy!

Replaced 3 x rather tired propshaft UJs with Britpart equivalents.

Today, I have been mostly doing the rear diff mounts. Thanks all for the helpful hints. I do seem to have dropped, or mislaid, the gear-change thump somewhere.

Temporary fix to windscreen wiper linkage and dried out the tailgate lock mechanism. Had a "someone's been here before" moment when I removed the tailgate trim. Torn inner door liner with loads of 2 inch masking tape!

Today, I has been soldering those pesky wires to the HDC switch. Added the cable-tie upgrade to try to stop 'em parting company.
