Yeah. First i did visit a locksmith and he told me he couldnt duplicate my key with the on that came with the casing. I didnt believe him because the profile was the same. So i went to another one, but he told me the same thing, So i just got a "proper" copy of my key and cut/grinded it to the...

Its not genuine. With the key un-flipped sometimes it wont open before im a few meters behind the car. With the key flipped the range is better. I think its the key that limit the range.

Today i have moved the roof rack and the Android mirror/dashcam/rear camera/GPS from the old L-series to the 2004 HSE. Also fitted a USB/AUX in socket. :)

I did this a while back. I like it, but the range seems to drop a bit with this conversion.

Great to see your progress. How did you fit the front bumper? Are you using the facelift crashbar?

I have a temp sensor in front of the radiator/next to the LR emblem on my L-series. Max im seeing there when im at a standstill is around 60C. But that is kinda far away from the engine.

I would like to see the winner of you two against Disco Mikey's 200bhp 1.8 turbo before he needs another head gasket/gearbox/IRD/rear diff ;)

Yes its standard on all Freelanders. Its a reducing valve under the hood(RH inner wing) which prevents lock up of the rear wheels.

Rave is a technical library for the early LR's < 2007. Workshop, electrical and body repair manuals ++
You will find it on the interweb free of cost usually.
Edit: Look under HOWTO section here on the Freelander forum. Mr.Hippopotamus have written a post about it.

Its bonded with double sided tape, silicone and using the original fasteners so should be possible to remove without damaging anything. Get yourself a copy of Rave and see the fitting instruction to re-assemble.

Read that the earlier speedo will fit in the facelift dash/fascia. Not sure if the airbag system is plug and play, but its independant from the engine ECU so you can swap the SRS ECU as well.
There is no way you can use the V6 engine ecu on the TD4.
