Thanks nodge68 and grumpygel think with what your telling me the vcu is faulty (banging underneath turning tight corners) and grinding noise from ird. Will start with removing propshafts and vcu. Suspect will need new ird.Thanks again guys for your knowledge will let you know

Just picked it up from garage they recon the transfer box needed a litre of oil so I suspect that is the problem. Will also check the vcu isn't seized. Thanks for your help. John

Hi guys, I have a freelancer 1 td4 2 ltr diesel auto. Have been told there is a bearing noise from the gearbox. Is there anyway of easily checking if its the transfer box or the gearbox. Tia John
