    sound insulation

Cheers guys. So far in cab I've done the passenger side floor tunnel and front of the seat box with the 10mm closed cell foam. Have to work outside so am limited by weather on how much I can get done. Have pieced the tunnel since the panel sizes are small and inherently stiff due to their shape...

    sound insulation

Whoops - always read before posting - should have made it clear - real load space has the 10mm foam on the floor with the 5mm ply on top.

    sound insulation

The closed cell foam (10mm thick) is sound proof as well as thermal. I've used it before on another LR that already had LR original rubber mats in front (so they just fitted over the foam) and it works well. TBH was looking for something less expensive than the Exmoor trim - do a lot of Scout...

    sound insulation

Hi. Just doing some much needed sound insulation in my ex-military 110 hard top with LT77 g'box. Fitted close cell foam to rear load space doing the front now. Looking for some carpet or mats to put over the top of foam. It is well used so I'm not looking to make it show room std nor to pay...

    Fuel slosh?

Just waiting delivery of new filler cap. Daren't let the paint work get stained - friendly landy garage mate painted it just before I bought it and he's -'reht chuffed with it'. Must admit it is a good job. As for wellies - farmers I know wear wellies so covered in mud and brown smelly sticky...

    Fuel slosh?

Hi, recently had fuel leak/spill out through the filler cap. It happened after going up a narrow winding steep hill, doing about 15mph - daren't go any faster, blind bends and numpties on wrong side of white line. Had to do a sudden pull in to LHS because a concrete delivery lorry coming other...

    Anti burst lock barrel

Cheers mate, Job done. Used an old 2mm dia twist drill just to push the barrel release button down - once I'd managed to line up the hole in the lock body and the release button. Bit tricky getting barrel out with liberal doses of WD 40 - been in there all but 30 years. Rgds

    Anti burst lock barrel

Hi all. First posted this on the Defender forum - plenty of reads but no answers. Locks are same as series LR's so can anyone help? Vehicle is 1994 ex-mod defender with military style doors and anti burst locks. About to fit new a new lock to off-side front but want to refit the existing lock...

    Anti Burst lock barrel.

Hi all. Vehicle is 1994 ex-mod defender with military style doors and locks. About to fit new a new lock to off-side front but refitting the existing lock barrel. I've only done this type of lock, once before (on a different landy) and I can't remember how I tackled it. Can anyone help please...

    Old age Land Rover Insurance.

Just insured my 1994 ex-MoD 110 Defender - I'm 77. Managed to get a classic car cover but means doesn't accrue protected NCD. Also has limited mileage of 5000/yr which suits me fine. Came in at £465 + legal cover and recovery - pushing it to £511. Best I could find. Contacted a number of...

    1994 front sliding windows

300bph/ton - thanks for ur interest. They are angled - they look vertical, it's due to the angle of pic. My wife ('m' of JimNm) keeps telling me I'm good at confusing folk. The channels are good and was hoping to try and do a quick fix with them in situ just so that can get them locked in...

    1994 front sliding windows

Cheers guys much appreciated. Sussed the prob once I knew the windows should lock and I will try the piece of rubber as well especially if it helps stop window rattle. Issue is that the glass/channel bond has broken down. So instead of the glass sliding with the channel it was sliding inside...

    1994 front sliding windows

Hi all, Newbie to this site. Just taken ownership of my second defender - 1994 ex MoD 110. It's just had a full paint job - Olive Green, drab. Looks great. Not had a car with side sliding winds since a mini traveller back in the early 1980's. OK rear half locks closed from inside but front half...
