Thanks guys, I will have a look at the links. Has any fitted the factory extensions? I take it I would have to drill the roof?

    Roof bar recommendations

I am after some roof bars for my Discovery 2, it has the short factory fitted ones but as I want to put a kayak on the roof they are not going to work very well. I do not want a full roof rack, it looks like it has to be some that fit to the gutters. Will these damage the gutter and...

    D2 - three amigos

I am after a trolley jack for my disco also, would you go for a 3 ton or is that over kill and would a 2 ton do the job? The advantage I can see of the 3 ton is the lift height of just over 500mm. Looking at the SGS website, the sale is still on Trolley Jack: Car Trolley Jacks, Low Profile...

    He goes nothing...

Thanks for the replys and help. Success! First oil change done, both filters. Lessons learnt for next time, like put the front on wooden blocks to get a bit more height to work with, even this time I put axle stands under the chassis at the rear on the off chance the air suspension chose...

    He goes nothing...

Thanks for that. The kit did have 4 filters, I had already done the air filter. I have hit a problem, I could not get the sump plug out, problem was one of tools. The 17mm half inch socket I have is wide to fit in the recess around the sump plug, the quarter inch fits perfectly but the...

    He goes nothing...

Right having purchased my Disco 2 it needs a service, as the whole point of land rover ownership for me was meant to be more of a hobby and not just a car I am going to do it myself. Let's just put this into context, the only things I have worked on before have had 2 wheels and where a lot...

    Thinking about a Discovery

Well I have picked one up, year 2000 with 105k on the clock, it has a full history. Tiny bit of body rust I want to sort but in good nick for 14 year old car. First thing is a full service and Cam belt change, can any recommend a good independent land rover specialist in or around Dunstable in...

    Thinking about a Discovery

Yep, I will keep at least £500 back to sort out any issues that come up. I have looked at other options but the Discovery is what appeals, what I really would like is a Defender but they are big money and perhaps not quite as suited for what I need it for. So the Discovery is what I am after.

    Thinking about a Discovery

Well I have done a bit research and my budget is going to be about £4000 so I think I am looking at discovery 2. Miles for money all seem to be excess of 100k, I am guessing that is not an issue if the history is good?

    Thinking about a Discovery

Hi all, I am thinking about buying a Discovery, the primary use will be as a towing vehicle, but also as big vehicle to go camping with kayaks, bikes and dogs. I don't have have a huge budget, £2.5k is all I really want to spend, it won't be my only car so won't be doing huge miles...
