Thanks for your reply and the time it must have taken, very much appreciated.
Looking at those images I think I'll just go ahead with new brackets etc too. May as well, as you say plan for the worst. At least I will know it will all be decent metal.
I'll take some pics and put a post up when...

Done some chassis repairs on my 110 200tdi and they have come out well. Quite pleased. Next repair is the bulkhead, footwells on both sides.
Footwells are quite rotten, both on the floor section itself and the outer sides just inside the wings. For a reasonably inexperienced welder would...

Hi all
Wanting to put some decent seats in the second row of the 110. Original low ones at the moment are not good for the kids. I know exmoor trim are the boys but at the moment I dont have around £1200.

Starting the freshening up of it and the subject of wheels. I want to fit some alloys and have a few questions.
I've read about changing the axles. I have a Disco 300tdi for spares, but read that the rear axle from the Disco has...

Ah thanks for the reply. So doing that way you get the best of both worlds, keep the existing axle and convert it. Great.
What about the front axles? I had read that due to having the earlier hubs I cannot fit newer style wheels. The Disco has boost alloys which I had wanted to fit. Can...

Hi all
I will start a Defender resto thread soon but currently I have some questions.
The Defender is a 1992 ex fire service 200tdi CSW. Engine is spot on, 104k on the clock, pulls like a train. I plan on doing a full refurb, new colour, wheels, interior etc.
I also have an S reg...
