From my recent gearbox issues, does anyone know what the differences are between the L series gearbox and the 1.8 petrol gearbox? Will a box from a petrol fit on a diesel?

Right then, Have stripped off the IRD tonight, and on the drivers side driveshft opening, I can feel up and down play on the inernal splines. I can also see what looks like a floating shim, or a broken spacer just past the splines. Will be stipping off the casings tomorrow night after work...

Thanks all for the help! I did change the viscous coupling about 8 months ago, as the rubber dampner split and fell off my old one. I have since tested it and all was well. I have seen the rebuild kits on ebay, has anyone had any experience of these, and do you think it might do the job?

Has just been serviced. The problem was there before servicing, and has gradually gotten worse over time. I will take a look at the air flow meter, is it just the same as many other types, where you can give it a clean?

Hi There, a friend of mine has a 4.0 2000 petrol range rover, which is low on power, especially when going up hill. It seems like the fuel filter is blocked, but after looking there doesn't seem to be one on the underside of the vehicle. Anyone have any ideas what we can check?

Hi There , My 1st post too!! I also have this problem, light was not working, but not a blown bulb, last owner had taken a wire off. I also noticed that I get the door open light on on the dash every now and then. Think I will have a look at the door switch also
