:blabla: Oh no not again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My second Freelander with an engine malfunction light coming on.
Lost power going up hills then lost power completely and could only limp home at 20mph.
Any ideas what the problem could be before I get it recovered to the LR dealer?

You're right, I live 50 miles North of Inverness in the Highland hills.:D
Ended up travelling 100 miles to get the car seen to. Brake pipes just needed a clean - NOT replacing............................. Propshaft & exhaust needed the whole units though.
One week later after having this...

Hi Guys....
I suppose one thing could be said - I could sue the grit lorries in the winter for spreading too much salt as that's what the garage told me...Huh??? The Highland roads are bad for salt but as a loving LR owner I have faithfully washed my car after each treck to prevent this...

:( Heartbroken 2001 Freelander owner needs a perk up.. .. . . . .
The scraping noise will be getting sorted next week after rigorous investigation !!! but the garage told me today that the exhaust downpipe can only be replaced as a complete unit, the prop shaft front joint cannot be...

Cheers Guys for all your help, at least I can go to the garage with an armful of possibilities. Spoke with a Landrover dealer who says at 41,000 miles it could be the front brake calipers - yep the dirt and rust thing I expect and the added weight of all that shopping is just makign the noise...

Good idea............ could get embarrassing..................!!!
Na, you've gone way past that...................

Thanks for that

Ps. Freelander is that metallic blue - Azure blue is it?
Why? Is it only this colour it happens too - or perhaps it's just women drivers? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!! :)
Or..................... are you trying to tell me I do too much shopping and shouldn't overload the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

Noise only there when in motion and not stationery. Brakes stick when stationery though so that's another thing to mention.
Freelander boot can fit one large dog, his bed, box of food and still enough room to swing the cat, although don't know if suspension would cope with a dog n' cat...

Thanks for the welcome:) great to have a sight where so many like-minded individuals or 'mad people' gather.
Have owned 2 Disco's (k reg, which I skidded and wrote off - not my fault honest (diesel on the road not cleared from a previous accident combined with hot sun and summer showers made...
