if my memory is correct it is high'ish on the nearside of the box my auto box dipstick does the same, but I have extended breathers so would be surprised if mine were blocked

no spider in an edc auto

does the 1996 petrol auto have a spider, I think the TDI auto does not have one but don't know about the petrol. When mine does this I remove the key from the ignition, lock the car with the fob, then unlock with the fob, this seems to fix it for me.

guy has same problem on another forum and one suggestion was "No restrictions on the oil feed returning to sump ?, causing high pressure build up forcing oil past seals" here is a link to the other thread i spoke of, other comments have been made...

what part number did you get as their web site is showing the wrong data for my 300 tdi EDC, wrong engine code and only 113 bhp instead of 122 and 13psi instead of 15psi.
