The B pillar lower sections were not in great shape: The spot welds make a nice popping sound when the fail. It did feel brutal and running the slitting wheel that close to good bodywork did raise the stakes. The wooden wedge idea came from...

Don't touch the boost on the Turbo, the way the VGT works need a lot of setting up to get right and the 300tdi really doesnt need more than 15psi. Altering the fuel screw will give you an immediate effect, Unscrew it by 1/2 a turn and see what...

True, but I've currently got lower temps at the moment, so there's going to be some wriggle room......

I never went more than 16psi.300tdi ran a large charge cooler instead of intercooler. Keep fiddling but you could get to a point where things get very hot quickly.

So basically £3800, is that all in with vat, parts and labour? That doesn't seem to bad, considerably more if you had gone for a new chassis.

Not LED! Fixed - the earth wire was cracked in the loom and causing the issue.

That’s a lot of parts now installed and unknowns rectified. I’ve record of the cambelt being done - previous owner seemed to keep ontop of it so I’m content with that. Cooling didn’t seem bad - my temp sender is in the stat housing so think it...

Decided to make this today. Straps onto the spare wheel a ratchet strap. Plenty on holes for straps/bungees plus some hooks for wrapping/hanging recovery strops Even did a little matching basket for stuff and things.

I went to war with that pump housing. When I say the bolt was seized in the housing I mean the bolt was near enough welded to the whole. Thread was fine but I spent a good couple hours wrestling with it. I actually ended up cutting it to get the...

A few rear body replacement YRM panels turned up today. They were supposed to arrive Thursday but Fedex seemed to think finding the actual delivery address just too much trouble. The seat belt and B post lowers both needed attention. So the...

Try your local Land Rover club or the green lane association (GLASS). They will have a local rep and organise green laning days. If it’s off roading you want, a pay and play site is the best bet unless you join a club and go with other members...

To be fair to them, it’s not just for Landies, and about 50% of what the Landy stalls were selling needed to be weighed in! 😂 I have a small list of parts to find each time, but I also go just for a jolly. My top find today (and probably...

Plenty of modern crap still with leaf springs on the rear axle. Series of all models are pretty crap, 90/110/defenders also crap, though people seem to get really upset when you say that, so it is always worth a mention every now and then!

Another good day. The price has gone up quite considerably. It was £7 on the gate two years ago and it is now £12.50!🙄 It was a bigger sale than the autumn one. There were a lot more stalls selling junk and non-Landy things, unless you plan on...

The difference in rotor arms were the ways the metal tabs were held on. Crap ones could not cope with heat & would pop up on the top

Blue were always the best. The centre electrode(which runs on the dizzy arm) also stronger. Later ones seem to break down. Never silicone the cap to keep the water out this appears to break the caps down quicker
