`Not very helpfully, I had changed the plugs from used Champs N9YC to new ones to new NGK BPR6ES. Still the same misfire, but a new distributor and rotor has now sorted it. The 3.9 is running beautifully on NGKs but it did on Champs too before...

Thankfully my welder guy has a lot of experience with soldering, so I'll get him to do the repair properly. It did give me the opportunity to take the rad out and give it a proper flush.

All sorted now. I ended up only replacing about 10" as the rest of the pipe was in good condition, just the bit where i spun the nut into got damaged 🤣 I plan on getting the body off later in the year so i will do a full job then. Thanks all...

Change the way I sleep in the rear so I don’t have to remove the roof. As normal take measurement and find the sides Chanel’s stick out so needed a trim back. Now sheet sits on the arches and spare wheel goes underneath. Tidy & level later...

Bish bosh, bit of welding to the bulkhead. I've been looking at the little rusty patch for a couple of years, this week it turned into a little hole. Excuse the ugly welding, but it's solid. The black is primer, a bit more sanding and a coat...

Thing is with LR is to me they are a work horse. Spent ages on 1 build & jumped into the nice leather trim… & scratched them with a Jean button.. trim out & back to cloth. The Hicap was a purpose built motor. All straight, gleaming paint...

My now 200tdi engined 1984 110 van bodied landrover is a pleasure to drive whether local country or motorway. But it has been improved by a disco transfer box, so lower rpm on the road. Tithonius cabin sound matting. The body being given, sound /...

I’ve ordered the good type of pipe, one of those fancy flaring tools and a good bender as well as a few packs of fittings for fingers crossed, I can cobble something together. Thank you!

A lot of the brackets bolt onto the chassis so not really a modification Gutters on a landy do bend so just keep an eye on the fixing points

Great info thanks guys. I didn’t have my jack available so solved it by just rolling the 90 forward and back. Front prop was much easier than rear.

Prop won’t move as both wheels on the ground stop this. Jack up 1 wheel on the axle your removing the prop from. You should be able to spin the prop round.

you can swap the hand of the alternator by simply undoing the three or four very long screws pulling them out rotating the ends of the alternator in relation to each other refitting the screws and tightening them up

Clutch has probally rusted to the flywheel. If the brakes work….start in a gear & sometime jamming the brakes on frees it up

New starter fitted. As expected, it didn’t go without issue as it is a landy! One of the turbo studs sheared, needing drilling and tapping. The mechanic said a few choice words, which I won’t repeat! And a couple of extra earths were added. But...
