Hi All, X reg TD4, Iv been under it to replace the centre prop bearings again only been in 2 yrs!!,and noticed the o/s front drive shaft oil seal gear box end is leeking,is it a job i could do with out taking to much apart?

Freelander 1 TD4 W reg. Reverse lights not working! bulbs ok, F2 fuse ok but cant get any power on the end of the wirer that fits on the switch at gearbox:rolleyes: anyone been there before?:)

Hi All, Freelander 1 TD4 W reg the central lock is a bit ify :rolleyes: its a bit slugish and works better when the car has been running for a time,if i leave it a week it dosnt wont to unlock at all....! and the door lock has almost had it and i cant get the key in to lock it manualy.!dont know...

Hi Me again, just to put anyone right who read this thread i only needed two because the others are fixed to eather end of the prop. job done and she's up and running ok now,dont now how long for though....been truble since i bought it!!

Hi just had some new oem viscous bearings pressed on by a landrover dealer £££ ouch. they said i only needed the thrower plate washers between the viscous unit and the bearings ....but there was two in each bearing packett giveing me four, are they right ?

Thaks ever so. Must get me workshop manual! seem to spend more time under it than driving it....

Ok i jacked it up and took the front and rear props off,then i spun the viscos unit with my hand...... the missis was about 30 feet away and even she could here the dry bearings!!! these came with the other viscos unit that was out of balance,when the guy i bought it off of fitted the second...

Well thats given me something to get on with.. ill give you some feed back when iv took the prop off. Thanks

Well iv been the unlucky owner of a 2001 TD4 es for just 10 wks and seem to have experienced all the problems possible on the drive side of things... So what id really like to know is:- What the hell were Landrover thinking of when they designed the drive train on the freelander...its crap. you...
