Hi All, thinking about mounting a cut down modified transfer case out of a toyota fj55, (it has vacuum switching). will have to shorten some shafts, remount the vcu. has anybody else ventured down this path? Regards, Carl

Hi All, is it possible to change the crown and pinion in my 1999 Freelander ird for later ratio crown and pinion. have rebuilt ird in past, still concerned ratio is making the vcu work too hard. Regards, Carl

Thanks Mantamad for the correction, VVC. have done a little research, in particular the 'Dave Andrews' website, where i read you can remove the VVC mechanisim, blank off the hole, modify the cam and you end up with a head with bigger valves. thought if i was going to replace the head why...

Hi All, I am looking for a new or reconditioned cylinder head for my 1.8 Petrol Freelander with auto tensioner. anybody no of, or had experience with a good supplier? alternately, is anyone currently using a modified vvt head off a MG on their Freelander? Regards, Carl

similar thing happened to me, ended up it was the litte ball valve which is part of the inlet manifold which allows air trapped in the head back to the coolant tank. if this is jammed it makes removing all the air after disrupting any of the cooling system near impossible. hope this helpful...

i installed the 'engine saver" low coolant alarm in my 1.8 Freelander couple of months back, sensor screws into heater hose bleed, measures conductivity of coolant, no coolant alarms goes off. inexpensive 'piece of mind' looking at finishing off the install by putting the alarm diode into one...
