A 11/8" socket will do just as well as the 27mm socket. But, Knock yourself out with whatever makes you happy, but please remember the socket is only as good as the handle. You will need a good bar type handle to apply enough pressure to release them squeaky tight lugs.

I had the same problem with my 200TDi. After close examination we concluded the switch that was activated by the gearbox shaft was not there at all. The plate that attaches the switch to the box is not there either. The wires that run from the box back to the engine compartment were also fried...

Have you noticed that the problem only occurs when the engine is running??? Get my drift??
