I can’t take the hose off for the time being as I’m at school hall day but I’ll try and do it this evening. The rolled part of the metal pipe is nowhere near the inward end at which it enters the engine but is also a good 2 or 3 inches from the open end. I’ve played around with the speed clips...

So I took the pipe off quickly and in the dark thinking this would be a 30 minuet job so I didn’t look at the positioning of the old hose. It appears that the hose needs to go over this edge, however I’m wondering if it is infact a marker as to how far the hose should slide onto the metal pipe.

The clip was over the rolled edge to start with and I tried to push the hose on without it being in the way. However, being hopeful it didn’t need to be pushed on any further I put the clip in place to avoid forgetting it and happily driving along until the pipe blew off later down the road.

This is the best I can get as the angle is difficult to get.

It was ordered by a land rover specialist garage and it was molded to the same shape as the one i took off. Also the two ends are labeled with engine and radiator so i cant imagine its the wrong one. Thank you anyway as it could well have been something that simple.

Defiantly the right way round as Land Rover have labeled each end to avoid confusion. I did double check that the other end wouldn't fit incase they had labeled it the wrong way round but they haven't. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for all your comments so far. If I push the lever to the left while stationary in either high or low range, with the handbrake on and in neutral on the main stick, nothing happens. Am I meant to push it the the left and then drive a few meters to allow it to engage?
