only because I took it to the garage... well, it locked up completely on the lane on the way to the garage so they had to come and get it - mechanic took prop shaft off in order to move it. I directed the local traffic around the obstruction. I don't want to think about the bill.
Over tea, my...

Thanks, Guys - turns out it's the transfer box bearing that's gone - new one in tomorrow.

Hi,
Set off to go mountain biking this morning and problems with Landy - hard to describe - very occasional jerking, like something locking up - some sounds like grating metal. Whirring sound which gets louder with increased speed. No difference in different gears. Still got the whirring in...

Hi All,
My starter motor is stuck on my 1985 2.5 N/A 110 and I'd like to try and fix this myself if possible. I am a complete beginner and would welcome any advice on best manual/CD, or whatever to follow instructions - I have the Haynes already but seems a bit vague, or is that me just not...

Totally agree - the 2.5 n/a is fine by me. Gets you away from the rush of things - trundling down the lanes is like being back in the 50's. I even think the sound is sort of soothing after a while - you get used to no radio and the steady rumble of the engine.

No CalumM, but I've just bought a digital camera so can take some tomorrow and post - might be a good idea before I start to change it.
How do you post photos on here? Never done it before.

I'm getting to really like mine. Cruises OK at 50 which is fine for me. Got 2 new bench seats for the back and a load of drab olive paint to do the load bay. Plan to use it as a camper with a canvas tilt on and sleep on an air bed on the floor.

I did. I did it to my Td5 110 hard top last year except I did only one bed and had cupboards built down the other side with an integral sink and double gas burner, and whale pump tap. Gas and water locker underneath.
Worked a treat. Problem was, hopelessly impractical as anything but a...

I plan to convert my Ex MOD 110 Truck cab to a camper van with a soft top. My
initial thoughts are to have a local joiner build in 6mm marine ply - two sleeping platforms one down each side about 28" wide, boxed in underneath and hinged lids so there's easy access to the storage space...

Thanks for replies - I should get what I need where you all suggest - I think I'm going to turn it into a camper.

Tim, congrats on your new Landy - any pics? Mine changes gear fine - I just take it slow like Lucifus says. I sometimes mix up reverse and first...
I quite like this n/a engine - it kind of slows everything down - no point in rushing. Tonight I was late back from mountain biking, so I phoned...

Thanks, I'll check them out now on the web.

Just picked up my EX MOD 1985 12J 110 PU - where would people advise I shop for things like headlamp surrounds, front grille, canvas tilt and galvanised frame, rubber matting for cab, and other things it's likely to need? Thanks.

G
I might end up with a full soft top - I honestly don't know how it will work out yet. Haven't even got it yet - should pick it up tomorrow. Got any latest pics of yours Lucifus?

I know what you mean between hard and soft top - mine is a truck cab and I plan to get a new green canvas tilt to match the cab colour so that it looks similar to a soft top but with a cab. If that makes sense?
