Today was the last straw... took my car in for a misfire proplem ..engine managment unit has failed, cost to repair £532 has anyone else had this happen to them. 2001 freenlander, since it ran out of manufactures warrenty I will have now had the head gasket and now a ECU fail

Just had som emore bad news... took it into the dealership with a misfire... diagnosis.. Engine managment system shot.. cost of replacment £500.. Iam begining to fall out of love with this car..

Had a similar problem on my 2001 1.8s, but also discovered a water loss, turned out to be the head gasket, hopefully you are not loosing any water ???
