Engine management unit failure

Today was the last straw... took my car in for a misfire proplem ..engine managment unit has failed, cost to repair £532 has anyone else had this happen to them.
2001 freenlander, since it ran out of manufactures warrenty I will have now had the head gasket and now a ECU fail

Hi sorry could not help 1st time ive heard of a engine ecu going down on a 1.8,ever thought of taking out the extended warranty hope it goes ok when you get it back

some more news.. got the car back today.. when I picked itup it stil had a fault but they fixed that.. put in a call to Land Rover customer services today to see what they can do for me.. will keep you postes
