Thanks mate, turned out today that's exactly what the problem was, faulty ignition switch, had it bridged/bypassed (not sure what Greg done) and it started up perfectly. Hopefully going to be a very cheap repair. New part ordered
Thank f"@&
It was the battery itself he checked.
It's almost like gremlins the car has.
Steering was heavier than normal once he got it started, steering wheel still moved in and out when i took the key out.
After starting the fan speed was working then the whole centre console stopped working apart...
Thanks mate. Car ended up not starting today. AA checked everything common then as a last resort put jump leads on and it fired up. Drove him with no speedo/fuel gauge/revs/heater controls/suspension controls. Range and cruise and indicators worked. Got back, left it running for 5 mins and it...
Good evening all.
My wife's 2006 diesel has developed a couple of problems recently and I'm curious as to whether anyone else has experience anything similar.
The first problem was "suspension fault" on the dash. Suspension operates perfectly fine still.
Second fault which came a fortnight...
Hi James, it's been a while since I checked the 4wd system but cars driving no problem at all. I'll try it tomorrow in 4wd and see if there's any dragging, that the best check?
Hi guys, sorry not posted in a while, list my phone during a messy night.
RR is driving spot on, not had a chance of good snow yet to check to 4wd works fine but it's selecting no problem

I guessed/hoped it was a dodgy ABS sensor which would be an easy fix.
Had the Freelander plugged in today as Ive constantly had the...
Thanks Mike, got it back on site, drives great and a bit quicker now as the calipers aren't sticking.
Time for electronics now :(
Hope your diff is an easy fix mate!
Was the half shaft that caused the problem, that'd the recon unit fitted and it's currently away in for MOT.
Should be on the road later today.
Many thanks for the advice again
Nice car mate, looks lovely on those wheels and the black bonnet badges are a nice touch. Looking for a similar one of these shortly.
Got to laugh at the bangers on here though!
Hopefully get the replacement half shaft on monday. My mate had one, but a non abs so says he can switch it over, hopefully get it fitted Monday and then see what else is broke then.
