Sounds like pump is broken, check lift pumps and then I td4 get high pressure checked as should show on diagnostics.

If the lift pumps are okay and it shows high pressure fault then the pump is broken

If an l series ask in freelander section

wife put petrol in gaylander drove 1.4 miles i drained the tank took out pump cleaned it ! put more diesel in started up coughing and smoking then drove fine but now it takes so long to start then now tonight after a week wont start

hi got myself a gaylander! battery went flat recharged battery thought this would solve the problem/car starts fine but battery light stays on and and blows smoke !! any of you wise owls can help me apart from buying some mathches and sending it to heaven any help is much appreciated .
