04 TD4 new clutch time. Can anyone recommend a good garage North East UK

So... £421.05 just on parts alone and that's not with a DMFW . Throw labor on top of that and I'm officially borking at the price . Are these prices OK gents? I'm guessing getting the work done cheaper would mean cheaper parts etc. Cheers

FL2 TD4- Fed up paying £29.75 tax - any alternatives?

We only pay £20 a year on my wife's Fiat 500L, 1.4 and it's been a great motor. Good size, quick enough ish... Only issue is you can't tow anything so when we hit the caravan this summer its back to the trusted FL1 TD4.

04 TD4 new clutch time. Can anyone recommend a good garage North East UK

Cheers for the reply. I'm not entirely sure of how hard the life of the car has been tbh but gear changes are never an issue, its just the peddle which after 30 mins or so of driving becomes horribly stiff and makes driving and changing gear uncomfortable. I'm guessing to change the slave...

04 TD4 new clutch time. Can anyone recommend a good garage North East UK

Hey all, It's just as the title says, it's time to replace the clutch, DMFW, slave cylinder and bearings on my trusted TD4. My clutch peddle is progressively getting worse on long journeys and without going down the bleeding route, new master cylinder etc the car is hitting 100,000 miles now so...

Rear brake drum / bearing issue

Yeah this was my first initial thought. . Would the bearing be damaged with no play in the wheel? Final question - price on a wheel bearing fit? I'm finding out people don't really like working on these motors .

Rear brake drum / bearing issue

Hey everyone, I'm after a bit of advice as I've got an issue with a noise coming from my rear passenger side wheel. Long story short, to my horror when changing tyres one of my wheel nuts was held on by...blue tac . Fast forward ordering a new wheel stud and having it fitted via my local 4x4...

Freelander 1 Where To Put Fire Extinguisher

Hey everyone. I've just recently purchased a fire extinguisher and bracket (not genuine Landrover) for my Freelander. Quick question, where have you guys fitted yours and how did you do it? I was looking at the boot but will I need to remove the side panels to then drill and attach etc. I've...

Garage Recommendations Guisborough Area - Near Middlesbrough / Redcar

Thanks for the reply. Not too far away I guess, are they a Landrover specialist? Everytime I've taken the car to any type of garage away from my usual, the nonsense that gets thrown my way is nothing short of hilarious and infuriating. It's like the Landrover badge means prices x10 .

Garage Recommendations Guisborough Area - Near Middlesbrough / Redcar

Hey all. It's like the title sais really. Can anyone recommend a good garage near my home town of Guisborough (North East, Middlesbrough area) as my usual go to garage has closed down. Reason being, my beloved Freelander will be due an MOT very soon and I'll also be looking to replace the...

Freelander 1 - difficult gear change when engine is warm.

Hi guys, Firstly hello... I've happily owned my Freelander 1 TD4 HSE for over a year now and I can honestly say I love it. The aim is to keep it going for as long as possible and only ever get rid when it's offically at the point of no return - hopefully regular servicing, maintenance and...
