The brass coloured pin goes in the cylinder to engage the clutch but then comes out if you don't ride the clutch..is there a sleeve that goes into the cylinder to secure the pin? I have seen some inserts on parts sites..any comments appreciated

Hi all..we have a 2000 20l diesel freelander. I put the clutch in and something broke so the pedal is now very high. If you look under the dash you can push the pedal down and put the pin back in the hole which works but have to hold clutch down a bit so it doesn't come out again..should the pin...
