    Rev's keeping up on KV6

According to my son (they are at the Egean coast for holiday); fluctuating idle, not more than 3000 RPM, occasional engine stops and transmission kicks right before slow down and stop. I will be going there on Friday to pick my family up and write about what's going on exactly... I am plannning...

    Rev's keeping up on KV6

Hello, You mean that you followed the below procedure while in motion. Did I get right? Please clarify the items so that I can perform the same for my son's car... * Ignition on (obviously engine is running or, you applied ignition off and then back on again while in motion???) * 5x pressing...

retrofit steering wheel controls, not so plug and play???

Thank you, baptista. So, I can buy the Discovery item with a clear conscience... One more question... Can I fit any plastic part in between the two (+) and (-) switches to contact the circuit?

retrofit steering wheel controls, not so plug and play???

Sorry, maybe it will be kind of rain in your parade but, instead of starting a new thread, I am writing here... Are other model's cruise and stereo switches such as Discovery suitable for my 2001 Freelander? The parts seems to connect up and down sides of both switches are broken in the middle...

    SIDE ARMRESTS

Thanks GrumpyGel. I can try a frame moving with the seat. As per the cup holder, I'd better check Ebay for a replacement of the rubber thing...

    SIDE ARMRESTS

Hello, As per the “armrests”, those may be assessed that we are talking about the center armrest which we can never go down such low to rest our arms while driving…In my opinion, it’s so weird that a 2001 MY Freelander has no armrests nearside the front seats, as well as no cup holders provided...

    SLIGHT VIBRATION AT IDLE...

I will start with spark plugs first. And, I will try to collect fault codes with the dongle if it works...

    SLIGHT VIBRATION AT IDLE...

I have some problems regarding my Freelander since that date I bought. Saying first things first; I had “no heat in cabin” problem sorted out and am focusing on “slight vibration at idle” issue now… Engine starts and revs normally but, it is vibrating very slightly at idle. When I get to the...

    Engine Rattle

Mine is V6 too. So, what should I do before going to the mechanic?

    NO HEAT IN CABIN

Finally... We have more than enough heat in cabin now... My son took her to our new mechanic guy and, he copied all hose layout from the other Freelander in the shop with 2.5 V6 engine hose configuration. The previous owner's mechanic did his best :(and connected the thick heater hoses as...

TYPE OF OIL FOR V6 ENGINE

Thank you once again...Since the lower the 'winter' number (hence the 'W'), the easier the engine will turn over when starting in cold climates, in here especially; I would use 5w/40 fully synthetic oil instead of using 10w/40 semi-synthetic one...

TYPE OF OIL FOR V6 ENGINE

I think, I can hardly find 10W/40 fully synthetic one... Every brand I search, producing semi-synthetic for this viscosity...

TYPE OF OIL FOR V6 ENGINE

That's a brilliant idea. I already do the same for my other car, Chrysler Grand Voyager in addition to spreading some oil around the filter's o-ring before tightening.

TYPE OF OIL FOR V6 ENGINE

Thank you. Mecanic told me not to use fully synthetic oil for no reason. I will keep your advice and use fully synthetic Mobil Super 3000 10W/40 starting from the first oil change on weekend.
