Even if you can manually open it from inside of the tailgate, youll still have to get the window to drop. Unless you have done already?
If not, try holding the unlock button on the fob, or disconnect and reconnect the battery and window should fall.
If it doesnt fall, might be a problem with...

Have the draper camshaft pulley locking tool, its a flywheel locking tool ive made but not one that bolts on through the gearbox bolt threads. This attaches while the gearbox is on the engine in place of the front bellhousing cover.
Have you still got your freeby? I remember meeting you in...

If i think about it, the clicking was most likely the tesnioner springing back as the pulley skipped teeth going the other way back to correct timing.

Just been reading the previous posts regarding freelander turbo.
Ive been thinkimg about a vvc / turbo hybrid in a freeby for a bit now. Will be experimenting with this engine in my rover 25 first. However many on the mgrover.org forums have confirmed emerald will easily run this combo. The...

Had one as my first car, still have cos im a sentimental **** who doesnt get rid though i might be breaking it soon. Only got retired cos i couldnt get it mapped on a 4wd rolling road after tuning and putting in an emerald ecu.

I actually have one of those spoilers that someone posted a link to on the rimmer bros site. Theyre sold out because they didnt make that many in the first place.
It may have been placebo but i felt the rear end more planted with it fitted. Even though it seems like its more for show than...

That red thing (must have been painted by prev owner, never seen a red one before!) in your video, thats the dizzy cap. Pull the leads off taking a note of which order they go in and the the cap should come off after unscrewing. The rotor arm is inside.
Strange for it to stall while driving...

Cheers for the replies guys. Can anyone comment on what the clicking noise might have been while the pulley was turning? It was fairly loud and wasnt any of the pulleys slipping on their keys.

Have put Michelin Lattitude Cross's on my girlfriends freeby and theyre a nice good tyre. Good road handling while great on gravel and decent enough for an all terrain in thick mud.
Used to have General Grabber AT2's on my old freeby and used to swear by them. They wear a bit faster than the...

Dont think a dodgy sensor would stop it from starting. Plus, 37 quid for a tps sensor is a right rip off. Ive never heard of them going that often.
Its a good idea to try the rotor arm, but inspect your current one first. If its been sat for a while sometimes a bit of sandpaper on the contacts...

Could you smell petrol from the plug holes when you took them out?
Try taking them out right after cranking and seeing if the plugs are wet at all or if you can smell fresh petrol.

Long time no see guys.
Half way through replacing the timing belt on the girlfriends freelander 1 (1.8k) and had a bit of a ****up moment.
Tried the old hold the starter teeth with a screwdriver to undo the crankshaft pulley trick and it didnt work. Cam locking tool was in place so cams stayed...

So the carb goes back on this morning, same as before. Turns over but won't even attempt to fire.
Took a plug out an there's definitely petrol on it, so petrols getting to the plugs fine.
HT leads are in the right order anti clockwise.
Still not checked timing or the points but would...
