If i get cnuts like that behind me i usually do a brake test. And if they got something to say or jump out the car i let mr sledgehammer do the customer service for me. They soon say sorry or realise they were a cnut.

I used shoe shine to get them back to black. You need to give it two coats but once dry, it's stays on for months. I did mine in February and they don't even like they are fading yet. And it only costs 97p from ASDA :D Just make sure you wipe off the excess off the bodywork before it dries...

You can get a Hawkeye diagnostic reader. It will set you back 300ish pound though. Or Faultmate for a few more hundred.

Fifteen Hundred sounds too much for a gasket change, i got mine down to three hundred and eighty by phoning around getting the best price, i had no problems with the gasket since. Unless anyone disagrees, try not to take it to a landy garage as they charge the earth for even the simplest of jobs.

You should get a lot of smoke from the exhaust, thats if the coolant hit it, you will initially get a large plume of smoke to begin then will die down when the exhaust is cooled to the same temp as the coolant (exhaust gets pretty hot). At least that's what happened to a previous vehicle i had...

Just read your description for the vehicle on ebay. The bit about lots of steam and water on the road.... have you checked the hoses for splits or loose connections?

When you hit a corner, change to the 215's. When your back on a straight road, go back to the 235's :D

One month is ok for the vehicle age. It's not like you bought it straight from the production lines. Just to make sure they did a good job though try and screw it over again :violent:

May be a trip to the local garage i think tbh, unless there is an independent mechanic/fault diagnostic in your yellow pages (which should be cheaper), they may have the hardware/software needed to access the area. Apart from that i can't help much more sorry unless someone else jumps in the...
