Drove home 30 miles last night almost impossible to change gear ! Clutch pedal had been sticking so I had to raise the pedal with my foot under it each time I changed gear. Then it got worse and I could barely force lever into gear. Looked at Haynes manual and I guess I need a new clutch...

Just re-investigated and found that the bulb-holder has a metal contact on either side and one of these has burnt through - clearly the problem. Not sure how I didn't see this before ! At least I can confidently order a new one.

Thanks for the advice DD But............................ Went back out to the car and removed the bulb again. To my amazement I found same value bulb in my garage and replaced it. Guess what ? The same fast 'ticking' and flashing and no light from front n/side. The filaments on both...
