That’s a bugger. Looking at those photos if you could perhaps clean up the damaged bolts to smooth it off then centre punch the bolt and drill a hole and try to get an eezee-out/ stud extractor into it and hopefully that gets them out…can be a...
Well lads I decided to carry out some upgrades on the heating system of my 90 when the first snow of winter arrives…seems to work in the long trips into the hills.
I've seen the videos of Russians in Yakutsk, Siberia dealing with the cold with their vehicles and it's a hell of a faff. Some even leave the cars parked up and running 24/7.
I cover the actual face of the radiator not underneath, the scrub I am often driving through would soon remove.
As for actual block heating how about the old Russian method of a tray of diesel under the sump and a cup of vodka to get it...
The heater in a Defender, when working ok and properly sealed, is sufficient for the UK climate. Using Vaseline on door seals stops the doors from sticking to frozen seals and a good radiator muff like the exmoor trim one helps.
Day in the man hut today… another productive day, cleaning screen hindges, bulkhead flaps, window claps, and heater box, everything ali was epoxy etched, then everything primed. Heater box and dash panel rust treated then sprayed black. Will need...
No probs. The box with the battery gave me enough room just to get a few things in there that would get me out the bit if I was stuck hopefully. Tool roll has the basics too for simple fixes. Box has fuses/bulbs/tape/some tie wraps/sealant and a...
I'm sorry I didn't read your full post iv no idea about your hardships as I turn on my heated seats, steering wheel and climate control when I feel a slight chill.
Before the show I used to say it was 90% fun and 10% work. After the show it was 10% fun and 90% work. I've never been treated worse in my life than on that road for the first few years after the show came out. It got better for a little while, I...
That's a good question. I occasionally put some anti-gel in the diesel tank, but not very often. I've never added anything to petrol. On the ice roads (think Ice Road Truckers) I'd put anti-gel in every single fill, but those circumstances are a...
Greetings. I thought I'd try and get a discussion going about problems - and the solutions to those problems - that your Landy might have in the cold. I have an '05 90 Td5 and I live in the Canadian arctic (but I'm a born and bred Brit so I feel...
Thanks Forrest Gump
I’ll put together a metric tool roll to keep there similar to the ones for my two Series trucks. I’ll need to lodge the base plate somewhere safe. Don’t like the idea of it flying about in an accident. I have the standard...
That’s for a tool roll mate. Bit rough but it works. Base plate on mine sat behind the passenger seat but I use a bottle jack instead of the original one, bit safer I thought.
