You aren't trying to fit the seals with the centre filler strip in place are you?
Alpine light seals are a two piece affair with a filler strip that needs guiding in after fiting the seal and glass - like on 90/110 quarter lights.
You'll need one of these to fit the filler strip, scroll...

I think the main advantage is their strength, i think they are made of pretty thick steel!
They are also 7" wide rather than the standard defender items which are 5.5".

Does this make much difference Ratty? Might give it a go as my master cyl needs changing soon anyway.

The clutch is hydraulic already on all 90/110 and defenders.
What age and engine is the vehicle in question? You can fit a clutch pedal from a 300tdi / td5 that have spring assistance (if your vehicle is earlier than these models), this helps a little.

A vote for Richards chassis here, i have a chassis from them, very good quality and excellent finish. Chassis wall thickness is about 3mm. Everything fits perfectly.
They are also very helpful and pleasent to deal with.
