err . . actually three causes.
1. Its either that the valve is actually stuck closed.
2. Or its a faulty height sensor & ECU confuses the reason
3. Or intermittent connection in the driver pack connector, i.e. if the driver pack cannot trigger...
Whole f_ckin' day wasted today on those two bolts and no further forward. That and trying to bleed the high pressure pipes with 2 dodgy batteries that **** themselves as soon as you try to crank. Utterly wasted ****ing day.
Those bolts have one...
The valve stuck closed fault can be two possible faults.
Its either that the valve is actually stuck closed.
Or its a faulty height sensor. If the EAS controller reads a certain height that is too low and its tries to pump up the coresponding...
The bottom of the throttle body where the coolant runs through is held on by 3 tiny bolts, if the seiling surface is not perfect or if these bolts get over thightened or if the gasket gets old it will leak. Clean it properly, flatten and clean...
my plan is to use the P38 axels with brakes and suspension. then i will have to find out if i will use the RRC compressor and suspension ECU or if the L320 can do that better
I am not sure if the master cylinder and ABS setup from the P38 is...
Youll have to stick with the Borg warner transferecase because of the left hand drop propshafts. The LT230 is right hand drop.
If you going to take P38 axels use the P38 air suspension too, the P38 air suspension is set up for solid axels while...
Yeah i think the TDV8 had the 8HP.
This is what i would do
B57 engine along with its 8HP transmission out of a G05 BMW X5 and all its electronics that go with it, mainly the ECU.
Design an adaptor plate to fit the borg warner transfercase to the...
Have a look at the ZF8HP transmissions. They are a decent step up from the 6HP.
Im in the planning phase of changing my P38s 4HP to an 8HP a really cool part about this is the 4HP has a 2.7:1 1st gear the 8HP ive gotten has a 5.5:1 1st. So crawl...
Tornado is trying to sell their stuff so of course they are going to say its worth it.
It just makes way more sense to do the cam and ecu at the same time.
Its not a national secret but the knowledge is guarded by a huge amount of man hours to...
As far as i know its only tornado thats able to "tune" the bosch ECU's.
Without doing the cam its virtually pointless to tune the ecu.
But these engines are good ones to learn on, they still quiet simple and there is a huge amount of resources...
Weigh it up against the risks/costs of if it goes wrong and see how comfortable you feel. Not the most expensive job for a mechy that knows what he’s looking at. Saying that there’s plenty of good eyes and advice here if you post pics. These...
You sound like you are jumping in before knowing TBH.
Cam lift can be easliy checked with the right equip and just removing the rocker covers.
If its worn then fine change it. Its a lot of work.
As for tuning the ECU as far as I am aware thats...
+1 on doing the brake bleed procedure as per Rave.
If you think youve got all the air out on a step give it another 5 pumps and more air will come out.
Cheapest fix and first job with brakes is to follow the bleed procedure as per RAVE. Don't rush it and pump plenty of fresh fluid through.
How many presses of the brake pedal before the ABS pump kicks in? If the accumulator membrane is shot it...
no, 1 and 8 are not on the same coil.
roughness is a rolling misfire count. each increase is an actual misfire, but this doesnt count as an actual misfire event until you have a certain number per minute. i think roughness has to reach ~10, if i...
As said it's a wasted spark system, it will spark down 2 leads at the same time. Normally when a coil goes it will impact both cylinders not one.
I would suggest the coil is working fine at this point.
It could be a dodgy injector, but i would...
After you have fitted the new cups and clipped everything back together, tap around the uj head with a hammer it will realese any assembly tension.
Hopefully that's all you need to do.
The old phased or none phased question 😜
Any Nanocom for P38 should read the SRS system. Only the engine ECU's require unlock codes. If you want to pop up to Langley I could take a quick look. No promises on fixes though.
Most likely it's a bad connection on one of the seat...
I want to report that the Traction Control light is out.
Thanks again guys
All your help has been very much appreciated,
The lights are all working as they should
Fault was an ABS sensor wasn't fully seated.
MOT booked for Tuesday!
You are correct in that the ABS ECU signals fault conditions to the BECM and the BECM via a serial data link to the instrument cluster lights the lights and may also show a message.
The problem is that the WABCO D ECU can fail.
I can only see...
I think the discrepancy is.. becm doesn't have diagnostic access to the wabco. It can send and receive signals, if that doesn't happen or a signal is implausible/out of range then a light is lit up
I might be wrong, but that's how i understood it
