I want to disconnect the battery and gently clean all connectors on the BECM, I have a small copper wire brush and contact cleaner. The white calc residue that forms on old connectors needs to be removed me thinks?
Yeah i clean all those connections on the becm, while you at it do the earth points on the body behind the becm and all the ring lug terminals on it and all the fuses and stuff.
The window not set is just after removing the battery you have to...
When a fault occurs the abs ecu always logs it into its memory. It then tells the BECM that it has an active fault. The BECM then instructs the instrument cluster to turn on the ABS/TC lights and display the messages.
So if there is a fault the...
Having gone balls-deep into the engine there's no way I would risk using head-bolts unless it was a scrapper. Or the camshaft one. Seems they put these bolts where they know you won't risk it!
No that assembly looks right to me.
I suspect what you referring to as the abs ring is the cv boot clamp.
There is a steel cup that sits around the main cv body. This steel cup has a hole through which the abs sensor sticks. The steel cup is...
I'm not sure what's going on there but something isn't right.
I can't remember but that doesn't look like the right location.
You shouldn't see the ABS ring and the sensor should be mm away not cm's
Heres abit of a dumb question: But did you actually clear the fault codes on the ABS controller?
What are the current fault codes that the ABS controller gives?
Did you insert the ABS sensors fully? If they not close enough to the toothed wheel...
You can not reuse stretch bolts.
If its a normal bolt that has stretch but is still within its spec(goodluck finding what that spec is) then its reusable. But if its in any critical spot like headbolts reusing them is kinda like reusing...
IMO If you want it that is.
No electrical mod will stop this. The self leveling doesnt use air from the tank, It will only level down the air springs and will only get to the bump stops if it has a leak in 1 or more corners.
There is a leak...
Swapping to a standard relay eliminates the self leveling after the key is turned off and you don't have to pull it out every night👍
If your going to repair the real issue in the eas system later on, this is the least invasive temp fix😊
It’s under the passenger seat a long thing you’ll see it when you look. Just pull it out will stop it self levelling.
If you have an auto and the BECM is waking up it will make the light on transmission glow. We’ve all done the sitting inside...
More likely the contacts were corroded, and pulling & re-inserting did the trick. Best clean them thoroughly to prevent future issues. Has it been stored or used in a damp environment ?
My disco has DSC on it and when your in soft sand it will just dig itself in same with thick mud so the first thing i do in either situatin is turn off the DSC . I learn that the hard way the first time i was in soft sand it dug itself into the...
I thought you would have a tightened puller on it when you hammered it? Try heating it then tap all around, then see if the puller will creep bit more. I’m staring to think they’ve bonded it on with something
