From quite a number of hours of research on the proshaft phasing topic:
In phase being where the u joints line up with each other like the rear driveshaft does.
-All genuine LR front driveshafts for the P38 have the u joints set slightly out of...
Here is the row about driveshaft phasing. Wammers at his finest, enjoy...

You can't change it, but original LR driveshafts have the UJ's at slightly different...
Cylinder 8 looks very funky, something is not right there. The whole bore is very black with lots of carbon buildup. What ive circled in green kindof looks like a hotspot. What ive circled in blue looks like a crack in the liner to me.
Send some...
Cylinder 2, 3, 8 all have ring wash. Its where oil gets past your piston rings and then washes the outer edge of the piston clean as you can see thers no carbon buildup on those edges. The top edge of cylinder 8 seems particulary bad.
Also wipe...
Both the top left and bottom right do not look great at all.
Wipe all the oil off but not the carbon buildup, then its usually quite easy to see where its been leaking. Then us some new pics of the top and bottom.
...a small addendum.
The new one wasn't delivered - delay...
So I pulled the pin out of the old one, pressed the brake pedal and put the old one back in - and lo and behold - everything is great again.
Thanks to everyone for the great support...
The vibration could be that your front driveshaft is not phased correctly. The u-joints need to be installed slightly out of phase.
Could also be pinion carrier bearings, can you feel any play in the pinion when jerking it around by hand?
The...
Right you were.
Snapped one of my sock size adapters last night.
But the good news is I've got the passenger side head off, after much swearing and knuckle scraping.
Now it's just the much harder driver side left. I've taken the wheel arch out...
Is there anyone with the fuel rail for a thor v8 handy to take a measurement with a vernier for me please?
I want to know what the diameter is for the quick connect fitting where the rubber fuel line connects to the fuel rail. I dont really feel...
Yeah copaslip wont work as a lubricant for very long, itll stop the pins front siezing but the pins will eat away at themselves and the bores over time.
I guess who ever had this before me decided to swap the wheel bolts, as they aren't the normal 27mm. Looks to be around 22mm - one of the only sizes I haven't got 🙃
Today's progress..
Managed to get the exhaust manifold off on the passenger...
I just used a metric 12mm 12point socket, worked okayish without any issues.
Another mod i did that i would recommend is to cut the section of steel on the manifold that joins two of the exhaust ports.
My brother and i both had manifold sealing...
Red bubber grease works fine but doesnt deal with high temps very well at all. If you do use it just replace it every time you do new brake pads.
The best is silicone based grease.
For those heatshield bolts i just used a pair of plumbers pliers while lying under the car. Some ended up coming out, most just snapped off. Honestly i was glad if i could get them to snap because it meant less unthreading to do.
Thinking about...
I had V8 Developments completely rebuild my engine nearly two years ago. They did a complete turnkey job removing & replacing the engine. I just dropped the car off then collected it later. Be aware that you may need to wait some months before...
