    Thanks for that info. I don't have a Defender gearbox, nor have I seen one...that is why I am asking. The gearbox in the new Defender is the MT 82 six speed...the same gearbox that is in the Ford Transit, except for the shifter mechanism...hence why I am asking. I am doing some R & D...

    Can anyone tell me how reverse is selected in the new 6 speed box in the latest Defenders? Do you have to lift a collar to select reverse. or does it just knock in? Cheers erniech
