Apols for dropping on this thread, I am from new Zealand as well and am trying to find out more on this fip....did some tdis have a mod? Where is it located?

My 1997 300tdi stopped running, it turns over ....no start...it has an immobiliser and prior to stopping it had a fuel pump noise, which now seems to have disappeared? I have asked around repairers in New Zealand where I live and I cant find any local knowledge...did the d1 have a pump and if so...

My Tdi 300 has stopped will turn over but no go. My model has immobiliser.... it made a ticking noise before on ignition turn on now no noise...could this be the fault for no starting? And where is it situated??
