just had a closer look, mechanic says it is gearbox fluid. It is comming from the connection between the engine and the gearbox?
any ideas

Just finished doing a revision of my back brakes...
Now I see oil drips under mu sumpguard...
It drips right in de middle, It is normal oil ( so not from gear box)
It drips right on my exhaust ( smellly when at stoplight)
Does a 1.8 have Sump ( carter) ventilation or so.
any ideas...

Thanks, yes checked the other side and that one is OK. That is also how I found out where the smaller spring had to go.
Changed brakes of other cars in the past. But this one was so stuck and such a hustle to get of that when I was removing all the springs flew of before I could even see how...

Does anybody know where this sound could come from?
When I push in de clutch when shifting gears I get a squeak also when I accelorate and loose the gas.

quick question. the pistons flew uit of the brake cilinder. Got them back in but do I need to take the air out of the brake system?

If it is oil check your oil seal of your ird pinion
this may leak and come on the exhaust.

I replaced all 4 tyres by dueler bridgestones

when all is still OK I would go for the cheapest option. Use the new type gasket and mod the cooling system.
spoke to a specialist here in Holland whom said non of the modified headgasket car come back with same problem.
I am driving around like that for a year now and all goeas well

Did any one ever chance his brake lights to the position of the fog lights? I had seen a post on a belgium forum where they did it.
I some times get sick of all the people whom think on the road that they point out that my brake lights are not working. As they dont know they are in the bumper...

thanks still found all orginal bolds etc in a plastic bag in the car so that should be OK.
cant wait to 4wd the car after a year especially with all the snow we have here right now/.
hope the IRD still works good, but can find taht only out when I got all mounted I geuss. Former owner...

Quick question
I am about to refit a vcu which should work. I have my old propshaft still with the VCU which was removed by the former owners. But I think the marking on the car will not be there anymore... after one year.
the VCU I bought still has the back propshaft on but not the front...

oke thanks, this one still has the damper on.
next week it will be a 4wd after a year again after replacing all and replacing the oil seal at the rear diff
bought the car with the vcu off,
hope it will all work out....

Quick question I can get a secondhand VCU of a totalloss freelander 2.0 diesel. 2002 with 140.000KM
the serial are different...
Would this one fit my 1.8 from 1999?
