Can still be viscous fan bearing. Look for the fix here:

If you have air conditioning it might be the compressor clutch bearing:
The video says it all, and the procedure can 1:1 be used to change the TD5 and V8...

Finally changed the viscous fan pulley bearing. You could feel it was on its way out by turning the pulley with the belt removed - felt like there was sand inside and made a slight rumbling sound when turned by hand.
The procedure, when you know it, is dead easy and takes about 2 hours...

If you use your Disco everyday: no problem.

Check your diesel filter is completely tight. Also read someplace that TD5 heads can develope a crack around the exhaust valves, mostly cylinder 5, where coolant might leak into the cylinder. When engine warms up the block expands and seals the crack. Coolant causes white smoke... But hope its...

Hello, I need a new speedometer cable for a 1975 88". I have ordered many different ones but nobody seems to know the type :confused:. It has a forked end on the transfer case side where the speedometer drive connects to it :eek:. Please have a look at the picture of the speedometer drive shaft...
