I think I've got a similar fault as I've found my fuel temperature sensors bare, touching occasionally and I suspect arching - can anyone confirm that will cause the same misfiring symptoms?

Hello all, I've been chasing the usual miss-fire on my TD5 Discovery 2 2.5 auto (02) and have found a loose wire in the far end of the loom that goes across the bulk head to somewhere behind the turbo heat shield. Any idea where the black wire is supposed to connect to? I've added a photo...
