383 is a big wide v the bm engine is a tidy unitbut electronics in the box are a pain and tend to go into limp mode unless you dont use the box north star engine kicks ass in so many ways and wiring looms are available in the states to make it a plug and play unit

over heating sounds like a bad air lock or the head gasket-cracked head maybe.

wammers you may have a point there it does stall if you rev it from cold and and snap the throttle shut it just concks out but restarts no bother. the pump was repaired once for a leak problem and funnily enough its never run as nice as it did since that was wen the previus owner had it i told...

sounds like an earth problem to me have you checked the earth lead to the chassis from the engine oh and it wont start with the bmw pump and rr ecu. go on ask me how i know that:rolleyes:

sorry it is a diesel 2.5 dse actual speed makes no difference its done it at slow speed and at 50 mph and somewhere in between! i have had it at 80 no problem it cruises lovely, it just decides to cut out now and then as if the ignition is turned off.

right i have a wierd problem now the car runs fine and then all of a sudden it will lose all power and cut out its happened three times now and fuel level makes no odds it did it this morning with a full tank! coast to a stop turn of ignition and turn on again it restarts immediately and drives...

not fuel level it had just been topped up and the fuel filter is ok its not long been changed but the turbo pipe sounds a good one i will have to inspect them i didnt notice anything when the engine was out but you never know.

i have a similar thing with mine its fitted with the 5 series engine it did have the plastic intake before but it wouldnot fit the bmw head the bolt pattern was different so i used the ally bm one it seems to run ok ... ish.
