Series 3 randomly throwing out smoke!?

Check your injector lines for damage/leaks. Has the injector pump timing been messed with? Is the air filter setup correctly. Its probably something and nowt, most faults are, however if its the pump then a worn transfer pump within the injector pump is the issue. Have you tried a...

    series/ discovery axle commonalities.

My 109 had disco axles, the flange, drive shafts and bolt patterns are all totally diffo. Stuffing disco flanges on a series axle tube is not all that easy, even if you have a toolroom. The disco axle does go on the series, but you need to grind off all the spring and shocker mounts and make...

New 2.2l ford duratorq in a Series

All fords below 2 litre at least on petrol engines share the same bell housing bolt pattern, and the tranny yorkie engine is no exception, except for the input shaft nose bearing is diffo. If this engine your thinking of will fit an old type tranny rwd, then theres a good chance you'll be able...

    New Engine next year

If you want something that doesnt take long to fit if your using a mechanic then think about the 200 tdi, the 300 allthough more readily available needs mounts welding and more work to fit.

anyone know what make this chassis is???

That looks a deffy chassis, did you post in the right section? There is a firm that makes series's chassis's with coil sprung axle mounts, if its one of these before you fit it consider that to make it legal you'd need to sva the vehicle, a kind of super mot that you really wouldnt want to...

Engine onto box, or, box onto engine?

If its the first time the engine is going on and it waint fit, try it without the clutch basket and plate to make sure nothing funny is going on.

    Removing stupid steering relay

I did mine a while back, using a similar method to the vid, only I welded some angles onto the chassis to put the legs of the puller onto, and the puller was a 10 ton hydraulic job, it didnt have enough power to shift the relay more than an inch so I wriggled the sticking up bit of the relay...

    Springs and leafs!

It sounds daft I know, but they say the lightweight is heavier than the 88. 109 rear springs are beefier than 88 springs, no of leafs varies but the force required to squish them fully is much greater for a 109 rear leaf. And as mentioned springs are handed, landys were meant to sit level with...

    Traitor !

Thanks guys the nicest thing I've heard in a while. I had a triumph, not a spitfire a 2000 mk2, bit of a rotbox and a head that warped if you looked at it wrong, but I kept it going for a couple of years. I still see one of mi old minis knocking about, a '62 cooper, the same owner has it...

    Traitor !

I think all mot men must have a grudge against series's, your a tuff nut like me mr dawson werent you fooking about with yer landy in the snow the other year, I had to sweep the snow off the drive a couple of times before I could do owt to mine a few times. The biggest pain is putting 100 notes...

    Alternator upgrade

Its personal opinion but I dont approve of ammeters, they add a degree of unreliability and the wiring causes volt drop, 0.1v affects the charge of the battery quite a bit. This is avoided if you have an expensive ammeter with a remote shunt. I think a voltmeter is a better idea, more...

    Leaf Spring Reassembly to Chassis.

Sorted, I use a big shifter to twist the leaf a bit to get the bolts through. Just be glad the mot man didnt want you to renew the chassis bushes, I took the ones on the front out on mine, it was the worsest job I did on mine and I did a lot of work on it.

    Traitor !

Nope dont do could have's, if I see my old landy driving down the road I'll just flash mi lights and think well done mate. I didnt give up with the old girl, more a case of giving up with the state of everything, cost wise. I sold mi army jeep and mi scooter last year, and sold some of mi'...
