You shouldn't have any problems with the V5. I bought a seven seater last year that had spent it's entire life registered as a two seater. I just wrote a covering letter and sent it to DVLA and got a new V5 in a couple of weeks.

Thank you for even considering it.
I'm wondering what I'm going to find next. The PO was a bit adventurous with the wiring, I've dug lengths of speaker wire out of some weird corners. Between that and his liberal use of a rattle gun underneath this is becoming a magical mystery tour.
-
Thanks for that. I got that far as well, but I can't get my head round where they connect. The total change in wiring colours doesn't help. If it wasn't for this current malarkey I'd nip to a scrappy and take a look but . . . . . .
Thank you

Yup. I've added the missing switches and then had a good look inside one seat and it's the original heater pads. I'm certain because they're shaped to fit around the seat springs.
-
Sorry, forgot that bit - they're powered seats.

Totally failed to get the filter cap off the ACE block. Moved on to totally failing to get the sump plug out.
Having had similar issues with both axles, gearbox and transfer box I'm now convinced that the PO owned a rattle gun.

Afternoon all.
I've moved over from the RR section as I had to lose my beloved P38. A couple of years with an RR Sport under warranty almost drove me round the bend so I have bought a D2. As I did with the Rangy I've overcome most issues by reading on here before I start but I've come to a dead...

I've got a gear selector from a Disco 2 in my South Bristol garage. Don't know if it's identical but it looks similar to your picture.
The illuminated section is pretty well U/S as I bought it to play around with changing the LEDs but the cover is fine.
Yours if you want it.

Just keep your face out of the way if you're going to wiggle yellow wires.
-
I'm assuming that you're looking for filler pipe
otherwise
which gas turbine have you got under the bonnet?!?!?!
Where the fook are the smileys on this new s******e

It'll never be great with a stone cold engine but checking the quantity and quality of your gearbox oil is a good start.
An old gearbox filter won't help either.
-
Yes you do.
The procedure is as follows.
You phone me up and wait for me to arrive.
You fill your tank with diesel
I then pump it out into my Rangie whilst you check your fuel gauge.
When mine reads full and yours reads empty the job is done and I leave.
For true accuracy this should be repeated...

Ah Edinburgh, one of my most favourite places on the planet
:)

Just back from a quick trip.
Perth, Skye, Berwick & lake district.
1,455 miles in five days.
Didn't miss a beat.

Considering the cost of the alternative I'd suggest at least three fluid changes.
I should have realised that I was heading for trouble when I found a date written on the filter in marker pen. It was about six months after the car was first registered.
