has any one seen a crank sensor fail on the inside but when using the diagnostics it shows up ok?

i have read on another forum about the crank sensor plate coming loose causing the non starting and reving problems

i would say it doesnt sound like how it use to sounds like only running on certain cylinders. so yeh does sound ruff the oil pressure light goes out as soon as it starts. il try and see if i got a spare sensor

so that means its def the oil pump thats gone then can this be changed with out taking the engine out? and any idea on the cost ot the pump

Hi guys i got a range rover p38 4.6 gems model 1996 the thing doesn't want to start or if it managed to start doesn't rev over 2-3k I removed the oil filter on the range when you crank it oil is not pumping out from were the filter is normally mounted to. does this mean the oil pump is gone or...

i did try swapping mine over with a different working one still the same problem any ideas guys still got the problem of not being able to accelerate over 3k revs on petrol could it be low oil pressure? what problems can you experience if the oil pump is worn or not working?
