discool replied to the thread LR Factory tours..
I’ve only done one factory tour, although not recently and that was at Ford’s factory at Dagenham, so, starting with an Intro presentation then on to the engine building line, then on to the spray shop and then to the assembly line. 55 minutes...

My 3.5 RR had a similar sound at 100K miles which was instantly diagnosed as a worn camshaft by the LR dealer which was replaced by them. Maybe it would be worthwhile if it is a cam issue to replace both, which I believe you engine has two.

Thanks for replying discool, that's probably the one as the pulley is a bolt. Thankyou so very much. It's just the squeaky sound is possible from there and I have grey grease coming out. Thankyou for helping.

Your D3 must be different ☹️ if set, the cruise control will disengage if the brake or clutch pedal is pressed.

8 The Thatcham security grade of the existing security system will tell you if the vehicle was fitted with an immobiliser system when it left the factory (Google Thatcham) And It will depend on the the immobiliser is active or passive, if...

Don’t hold you breath for a reply, Tim hasn’t been seen on the forum for Jan 31 2023, its always worth checking with old threads to see if a person is still about.

Certainly a few clues of an HG failure being mentioned 🤔

Its definitely not a vent it cap, so has been modified, looks like its a 20mm hole so per have they intended fitting a sensor. The vent to stop a vacuum will be either a 5mm hole on the side or the cap is manufactured to include a vent...

discool replied to the thread Discovery Sport Boot / tailgate.
I assume the tailgate was functioning 100% before. So whoever did the work in replacing the tailgate would have left some pencil marks to aid realignment when fitting the replacement, something similar to bonnet and side doors removal and...

My quick search gives me a LR part number as STC778 Kit headlamp cover so possibly nothing to do with adjustment, anyway unfortunately they are obsolete.

Wading plugs are only fitted on vehicles going into water that having a timing belt and/or a clutch, autos and/or a timing chain don’t need them.

I have explained what is dim-dip and how it functions already.
  • discool
🤔 my 1987 RR wasn’t equipped with dim-dip nether was my TVR in 1985.
  • discool
Yes, a resistor which is mounted at the rear of engine bay, just unplug it to remove the dim-dip function.
  • discool
🤔 Pink relay ? No such thing fitted to a D1 and the only item that dips the headlights with the side lights on is the lighting switch. With D1s dim-dip feature, when the side lamps are switch on the headlight dip beam is then on but in a dim...

No. So unless there is a timer unit somewhere set at 10 minutes 🤔 then I would suspect an iffy light switch or intermittent wiring connection.
