No such thing as transponder when it comes to D2 remote fob, it has a "chip"(called "transponder" by those who dont know much about it, shown with red arrow in the pic) which communicates with the passive remobilisation exciter coil which is...

Check the headlamp bulb earth connection on the body (black wire) and/or replacing both headlamp bulbs with brand new ones. And leave the resistor disconnected of remove the relay as you don’t need the dim-dip feature. Also the relay...

discool reacted to norseman's post in the thread Range Rover Classic lower spoiler with Like Like.
I replaced mine a few years ago but can't remember the thread details, sorry. What amused me is that the makers handbook states that the spoiler can be removed to protect it from possible damage when driving off-road .. that may be the case when...

With fuel pressure the TA is 1996 model year and VA is 1997 model the engine is the same as the 1995 MA Vin so any component change or addition is simple a design change. The last D1 model year was 1998 had a few design changes to the vehicle...

Ok, the fuel pressure regulator ETC8494 is fitted to vehicles with a TA Vin and ETC6185 is fitted to later vehicles with a VA Vin. Throttle spring ERC3792L is correct… but now obsolete☹️...

The D1 left the factory with four different engines, two diesel and two petrol, which do you have?😊

An auto box should not be able to stall an engine. If the engine stalls when the power steering is in use the it’s an engine issue, or idle setting. IMO. J

discool replied to the thread Overheating gearbox.
A Discovery Sport automatic gearbox overheating, so it looks like your focusing on an iffy temp sensor, is that a guess or a certainty? as it also could include leaks in the lines or a malfunctioning cooling fan; all of which prevent the...

I think it's fixed. It's hard to tell from the pictures (or looking at it in person) but the sprocket on the output shaft is a little warped. Either from running it with a bad bearing for months (I knew that was probably not a good idea...) or...

discool replied to the thread Clutch not releasing.
Are you unable to select a gear/s without the engine running? If yes then try starting engine in gear, brakes on of course, Ive had to do that with a summer car I have in the garage as the clutch plate have been known to be stuck over the...

In my 37 years with two auto LRs which have only used Dexron mineral spec auto fluid which is semi synthetic without any issues… so what have I been missing ?
  • discool
discool replied to the thread Auto box disco 2 td5 question.
It’s the specification that's important not the Brand, as the fluid you have is the Dexron lll spec then thats okay. Your owners handbook will have more info.

I have a D1 and am teaching myself to weld as it wouldn’t be worth doing it if I paid someone else. When I first started this journey I had a shed , now I have a workshop….. you get the idea. Regarding your starting issue, check the fuel sender...

The Discovery 150 was limited edition in 1996, not from the factory but a group of UK dealers and based on some similarities to the XS, such as XS wheels that are fitted Central locking with key or fob, it’s ok to lock, but you need the fob to...

There did seem to be a bit of difference between torque settings between Defender, D1 and D2 in various places, even though it's the same box, one of the reasons I thought I best ask in case I was missing something obvious or my "ebay certified"...

I’m So 18 watts / 12 volts = 1.5 amps. And if you still the standard 2x21watt bulbs = 3.5 amps, so the vehicles wiring will be capable of handling the extra current load.

It may look nice when new and maybe see it behind the rad grill. I believe that Allisport products can exceed the specifications of the factory issue item when used in a performance and competition setting in which a quick additional cooling is...
