A further note - on testing on the motorway the noise persists with steering input but if I just touch tiebreakers it stops immediately. It persists even in neutral at 60 mph. So guessing it must be a brake catching?

Thanks guys - well I went for a 20 minute drive tonight and it only made the noise right at the end, as usual as if it needs something to heat up before it starts squeaking. The noise is constant regardless of engine revs, so guessing it is running gear related. If I tweak the steering or touch...
